Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) RN – Ohio

Start Date: November 2, 2026

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Night shift, 36 hours per week, every other weekend (Friday and Saturday nights). Float required within facility system as needed. 32 hours of orientation provided.

Highlights:

• Progressive Care Unit with 44 beds serving adult and geriatric populations with a daily census of 34 patients
• Diverse patient mix including oncology diagnoses (solid tumor and hematology), surgical procedures, COPD, sepsis, pneumonia, and other acute medical conditions
• Specialized corrections unit requiring access authorization; corrections experience not required
• Epic EMR experience preferred; telemetry monitoring performed on the unit with strong dysrhythmia interpretation expectations
• Experience with IV insulin protocols, insulin drips, and cardiac monitoring required
• First-time travelers welcome to apply; candidates with only one year of experience will undergo manager review

Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year of acute care nursing experience in PCU, stepdown, or progressive care setting
• Current and consistent acute care experience within the last 12 months required
• Active and valid RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Previous telemetry experience with strong cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation skills
• Demonstrated experience with IV insulin protocols and insulin drips
• Proficiency in starting and maintaining IVs, peripheral line care, oxygen administration, and isolation precautions
• Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Two professional references required (at least one from a manager/director or formal leadership role)
• Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only)
• Ability to complete Ohio fingerprinting process urgently upon contract signing
