# Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse – Tennessee**Start Date:** October 19, 2026 **Location:** Hermitage, Tennessee **Compensation:** Details provided to qualified applicants **Schedule:** Three 12-hour shifts per week with every other weekend requirement; self-scheduling available with 4-week scheduling blocks**Highlights:** - Progressive Care Unit with 34-bed and 25-bed units featuring patient ratios of 1:4 to 1:5 on days and 1:5 to 1:6 on nights- Manage complex patient populations including cardiac drips, insulin and heparin drips, bipaps, high flow oxygen, vapotherm, and peritoneal dialysis- Work with advanced equipment including Alaris pumps, wound vacs in collaboration with wound care teams, and multiple oxygen delivery systems- Gain experience with specialized procedures including thoracentesis, paracentesis, chest tube insertions, central line dressing changes, and NG/dobhoff tube insertions- Documentation completed using Meditech electronic medical record system- Supportive unit staffing model with dedicated technicians (3 techs on 34-bed unit, 2 techs on 25-bed unit when at full capacity)**Requirements:** - Active RN license in Tennessee or compact state eligibility- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required- Strong critical thinking skills and EKG rhythm interpretation abilities- Experience with cardiac drips, insulin drips, and heparin drips required- Proficiency with peripheral IV insertion- Experience with stroke care and post cardiac catheterization patients preferred- Peritoneal dialysis experience preferred- Experience with bipaps, high flow oxygen systems, tube feedings, and NG/dobhoff tubes highly valued**Why It's a Great Opportunity:** This Progressive Care Unit is known for its "care like family" culture and exceptional teamwork, with most travelers choosing to extend their contracts after their initial assignment.
